Prof. Baehyun Min (Ewha Womans University) - Engineering - Energy Engineering

2020-07-23

Baehyun Min is an assistant professor in the Department of Climate and Energy Systems Engineering at Ewha Womans University since 2017. He received B.S. and M.S. in Civil, Urban & Geosystems Engineering from Seoul National University in 2005 and 2007, respectively, and Ph.D. in Energy Systems Engineering from Seoul National University in 2013. From 2013 to 2014, he worked at the Research Institute of Energy and Resources at Seoul National University as Postdoctoral Fellow. From 2014 to 2017, he worked at the Department of Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering and Center for Subsurface Modeling at the University of Texas at Austin as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Associate.

His research interests span petroleum engineering, carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS), optimization, and artificial intelligence (AI). Much of his works have been on improving the understanding, design, and performance of reservoir characterization, history matching, and production maximization, mainly through the application of geostatistics, evolutionary algorithms, and data-driven technologies. As of July 2020, he has published 30 research articles and presented 59 technical presentations.
